If you live in London, or anywhere in the UK, you can’t fail to be aware that the Diamond Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II are happening this weekend. I know many people look at this blog from countries all around the globe, where maybe this has no significance, but in the UK it is a huge deal. 60 years being the monarch of this country deserves respect. Even the anti-royalists are using the jubilee theme, albeit in a subverted way. It is fun just to get a chance to revel in the grandeur and pageantry that are the trademarks of jubilee. The golden jubilee was amazing so I can’t wait to see the upcoming river pageant and following days of events.
At Empire of Things we are preparing to be part of the festivities at Battersea Park on Sunday and are feeling unfeasibly excited. It is such an honour to be part of such a huge event. We have a stall as part of Anita’s Vintage fashion fair
